Kinematic and Compliance Machines
The Suspension Parameter Measurement Machine (SPMM) makes the most comprehensive four wheel Kinematics and Compliance measurements under pseudo-static conditions for all directions of suspension movement
An optional Moment of Inertia Measurement System (MIMS) is available, to measure the inertial properties and centre of gravity of complete vehicles, engines and gearboxes.

Titanium Outrigger
NHTSA engineers have designed a strong outrigger that, like the Crbon Fiber design, minimizes the effects of its installation on test vehicle mass moments of inertia.
The titanium outriggers were machined from 6A1 4V titanium I-beams.
It was chosen for its high strength-to-weight ratio, machinability, and ability to be its optimized form and using lightweight hemispherical skid pads rather than caster assemblies. The skid pads are machined from UHMW plastic, and oriented 17.5 degrees from vertical with machined aluminum adapters.

Anthony Best Dynamics’ Steering Rack Test Machine measures the dynamic behavior of steering racks under closely controlled laboratory conditions. The SSTM uses a steering robot to apply to torque or rotation to the rack’s pinion while sophisticated servo motors simulate the loading from the vehicle wheels

Anthony Best Dynamics’ noise and vibration testing systems have been designed and developed specially to add objective analysis to test stands, in-vehicle assessments and pass-by noise. They provide fast production quality control testing at the end-of-line, as well as in-depth analysis of gearboxes (transmissions), axles, 4x4 transfer cases, engines and power steering systems.
